John Yoakum, OD graduated Magna cum laude with a BS in Bio-chemistry at North Carolina State University in 1991, and his received his optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1995. He completed a residency in Cornea Disease and Contact lenses at the Eye institute in 1996 and has been in private practice in Greensboro NC since then.
Dr. Yoakum is a 29-year member of the AOA Contact lens section, has lectured nationally and authored a number of articles on contact lenses. He has been a clinical researcher for the contact lens industry, most recently having been involved in several silicone-hydrogel studies. He is a member of Life Community Church, is previous Scout Master of Troop 68, enjoys Backpacking, the Great Outdoors, Bible study, and lives in Jamestown NC.
